Club Nacional could make a move to sign striker Edinson Cavani and defender Martin Caceres in the coming days, the Uruguayan outfit's manager said on Monday.

Cavani is a free agent after parting ways with Manchester United in June while Caceres is also without a club, having left Spain's Levante at the end of last season.
"Just having them at the club would be a source of great pride and joy for us," manager Leonardo Ramos told Radio 890. "They are top-level players."

When asked if formal offers had been made for the players, Ramos replied that negotiations would "surely" take place in the near future.
"I'll tell you more, it could even be today," he added.

Cavani has also been linked with Boca Juniors and clubs in Turkey, Italy and Spain.
Both 35, Cavani and Caceres have said they are seeking regular first-team football in a bid to be included in Uruguay's squad for this year's World Cup in Qatar.
