National women's football team Harambee Starlets have dropped two places in the FIFA ranking.

The world football governing body's latest ranks have seen Starlets in position 149 two places down from the 147 that they were ranked in June.

This is predominantly caused by the latest FIFA ban on Kenya that has affected both local and international football.

The Starlets have been inactive for close to a year now due to FIFA's suspension.

The team missed out on the women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and the CECAFA Women Championship that was staged in Uganda in June as the players and the teams continue to feel the bite of the suspension.

Meanwhile, Zambia are the biggest gainers in the latest rankings after reaching the semifinals of the women's Africa Cup of Nations and securing the World Cup qualification.
They have moved 23 places up to position 80.

Nigeria have dropped seven places down after losing its continental title to South Africa and are now ranked in position 46

WAFCON winners South Africa climb to 54th place from position 58 where they were ranked in June.

Cameroon have dropped one place down to position 159 after missing out on world cup football,
Globally, newly crowned Women's Euro winners England occupy the fourth position.

USA seat the top after winning the CONCACAF Women's Championship.
