Dan Shikanda has been re-elected as AFC Leopard chairman after successful elections conducted by the Centre for Multiparty Democracy Kenya (CMD- Kenya) at Kasarani Indoor Arena on Sunday.

Shikanda who was elected into office in 2019 will now serve for a second term after flooring his closest opponent Ronald Namai.

The former Leopards player garnered 459 votes to be elected chairman, defeating Namai who got 282 votes.

The Secretary-General's position which had attracted the biggest number of candidates went to Gilbert Andugu.

Andugu saw off competition from Robert Situma and Tonny Omusina to win the post.

He got 433 votes, followed by Situma (224) and Omusina (42).

Andugu replaces Oliver Sikuku who bows out after serving for two terms as permitted by the constitution.

Oliver Napali Imbenzi was elected unopposed as the treasurer.

This is after the incumbent, and his only challenger for the position Maurice Chichi was barred from vying after failing to meet some of the requirements as per the club's constitution

The new office comes barely days after the club recently launched pledge between them and a betting firm. The deal, if sealed will be worth Sh60 million per year.
