Ingwe contracts electoral body for June polls

AFC Leopard football club has contracted the services of the Centre for Multi-Party Democracy to oversee the change of guard of the club.
The Football Kenya Federation League side Ingwe will be going to the polls slated for the end of June 2022 to replace the current office whose tenure expires.
The Dan Shikanda team will pave the way for the incoming office which will steer the club for the next three seasons with the constitution allowing the club to elect the chairman, secretary and Treasurer.
In a statement dated May 30, 2022, the club has released a statement confirming the effect.
“The National Executive Committee is pleased to announce that it has appointed the Center for Multi-Party Democracy-Kenya as the independent body in charge of running and overseeing this year’s elections.” read the statement in parts.

“As a result, CMD will exercise authority and provide rules and guidelines to regulate the exercise. The club will provide the required support since this provides an ideal opportunity to undertake meaningful elections in accordance with the Sports Act.”
Chairman Dan Shikanda wants to retain his seat while former CEO Ronald Namai is eyeing the position. SG seat has attracted Robert Situma, Tony Omusina and Mombasa businessman Gilbert Andugu will battle it out to replace Oliver Sikuku who will not be contesting. Oliver Napali is seeking to unseat treasurer Maurice Chichi in the June election.
