Kakamega Homeboyz can go three points clear on Sunday if they defeat rivals AFC Leopards in the 15th edition of Ingo Derby to be staged at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.

Homeboyz are joint top with defending champions Tusker on 57 points and are separated by goal difference of two points.

The rivalry between the two teams has grown in recent years and it will be interesting to watch the unfolding at Bukhungu despite Homeboyz heading into the match with a better history over Ingwe.

Benard Mwalala’s charges boast of four wins in their last seven meetings where Leopards have won only one match with the other two finishing in draws including their last meeting in December that ended in a 2-2 draw.

Speaking ahead of the match, Mwalala maintained that they are still much alive in the title race until the final day of the season despite many doubting their recent performances.

“We have three games left before the season comes to an end and this is a race that will go all the way to the wire. We keep motivating the players and I am confident that by the end of the last match, we will be at the top of the log,” said Mwalala.

Tusker, who have played a game more than Homeboyz, will not be in action until June 5 when they tackle Bidco United.

Other matches today will feature record champions Gor Mahia play Naiorbi City Stars, Wazito host Bidco United, Talanta face Kariobangi Sharks and Nzoia Sugar entertain KCB.

Sunday’s Fixtures

Kakamega Homeboyz v AFC Leopards

Nzoia Sugar v KCB

Talanta v Sharks
