The battle to avoid relegation from the FKF Premier League will continue this weekend with Vihiga Bullets, Wazito and Nzoia Sugar all involved despite many focusing on the title battle between Tusker and Kakamega Homeboyz.

Yesterday, Mathare United dished out a third walkover in less than a month after failing to show up for their fixture against Sofapaka at Kasarani Annex.

The financially-troubled Mathare had previously failed to honor their matches against Bandari and Ulinzi Stars.

According to Football Kenya Federation rules, a team faces automatic relegation to the lower leagues if it fails to honor three matches.

Is this the end of Mathare United? We wait for the official communication from the FKF Caretaker Committee.

Back to Bullets, the Vihiga-based outfit is battling the drop from the league in their maiden season and currently occupy the 16th position on the log with 23 points after 28 matches.

Bullets temporarily moved from the bottom two weeks ago after two consecutive wins (against troubled Mathare United) and two draws (against Nzoia Sugar and Bidco United).

Their resurgence was however put on hold last week after a 1-0 defeat to Posta Rangers but Juma Abdallah is keen to bounce back ahead of their match against Kariobangi Sharks today.
