Vihiga Queens maintained their unbeaten run in the 2022 Football Kenya Federation Women’s Premier League despite playing out to a 1-1 draw against Ulinzi Starlets at Mumias Complex in Kakamega County on Sunday.

Phelistus Kadari gave the Kakamega-based ladies team a halftime 1-0 lead before Sylvia Rasoha scored in the 85th minute to rescue a point for Starlets.

In the process, Vihiga Queens stretched their unbeaten run to 13 matches.

Queens continue to lead the log on 35 points from 13 matches while Ulinzi Starlets are third with 26 points. Defending champions Thika Queens, who beat newbies Bunyore Starlets 3-0 at Thika Sub County Stadium on Sunday, also have 26 points, but have an inferior goal difference.

Stella Odhiambo, Wendy Achieng’ and Lovenita Lupemba were on target for Thika Queens.

Gaspo Women defeated Kayole Starlets 3-0 on Saturday to move second with 28 points.

Trans Nzoia Falcons edged out newly promoted Kangemi Ladies 4-3 at ASK Ground Complex, Kitale.

On Saturday, relegation-threatened Kisumu Starlets lost 3-1 to Zetech Sparks at Moi Stadium.

Puren Alukwe, Lydia Akoth and Yvonne Khavere were on target for Sparks.
