Leaders Kakamega Homeboyz on Saturday continued with their march towards their maiden title after thrashing visiting Ulinzi Stars 4-0 in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League played at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.

David Okoth scored a brace with Michael Esabwa and Chris Masinza completing the route.

The convincing win saw Bernard Mwalala's charges open a 10-point gap at the top of the table.

Victory saw Homeboyz complete a double over the soldiers as they won the first leg with a solitary goal at Thika Sub County Stadium two weeks ago.

Homeboyz are now charging towards their maiden league title as they top the 18-team league on 52 points with 10 matches left to the end of the season.

They are 10 points above second-placed Tusker who drew 1-1 with KCB at Ruaraka Grounds.

In the match, new arrival Esabwa who joined Homeboyz from struggling Vihiga Bullets in January put his side ahead in the 21st minute. The hosts would proceed to lead 1-0 at the break.

In the second half, Okoth doubled the scores to 2-0 in the 58th minute with a well-taken free kick which flew past custodian Jacktone Odhiambo in goal for Ulinzi.

Okoth added the third in the 73rd minute from a rebound to bag his sixth goal of the season before second half substitute Masinza completed the rout with a powerful long range shot in the 86th minute.

The defeat leaves Ulinzi 14th in the log with 26 points.
