Kakamega Homeboyz title surge was dealt a blow on Sunday after they lost 2-1 to Bandari in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match played at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa.
New signing Kevin Kimani who just arrived recently from Wazito gave Bandari a slender 1-0 lead at half time before Wlliam Wadri doubling the scores in the second half.
Sylvester Owino scored the visitors' consolation goal as Homeboyz’s nine-match unbeaten run was brought to a stop.
The win extended Bandari coach Anthony Kimani's unbeaten streak to four matches since taking over from Andre Cassa Mbungo.
The loss cut Homeboyz's lead at the top to six points with defending champions Tusker in second place with 40 points. This was Homeboyz's second loss of the season.

At Nyayo Stadium, 2009 champions Sofapaka held 13-time champions AFC Leopards to a 1-1 draw.
Former Gor Mahia midfielder Lawrence Juma gave Sofapaka the lead in the 21st minute after rising high to head home midfielder Said Tsuma's cross from the right before Daniel Musamali leveled matters for Ingwe in 39th minute.
Meanwhile, Bidco United compounded Mathare United’s woes with a 2-0 win at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani in Nairobi.
The Slum Boys remain bottom of the table with 11 points.
At the same time, Nairobi City Stars beat Vihiga Bullets 2-1 at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega to end their two match losing streak.
