Former FKF Premier League side Kisumu All Stars on Wednesday appointed George Ondula as their new coach.

The former Bondo United coach has been tasked with turning around the club’s poor results and help in the bid to earn promotion back to the top tier league.

“Today we've unveiled our new head coach George Ondula. The FKF instructor brings in a new wealth of experience to the team as he steps up to steer us in achieving our goal,” read a statement from the club.

The CAF instructor replaces Salim Babu who ditched the club a month ago for the FKF Premier League side, Nzoia Sugar FC.

Kisumu All Stars CEO Nicholas Ochieng confirmed the tactician’s arrival while announcing that they have not made any further changes to their technical bench.

“It is well known that our coach Babu left to join Nzoia. Evans Oketch stepped in as an interim manager but now we have made a decision to appoint a new head coach.”

Oketch will resume his duties as the assistant coach while the other members of the technical bench retain their positions,” Ochieng said during the unveiling at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

The CEO further exuded confidence that the tactician will change the team’s fortunes for the better as they attempt to earn promotion back to the Premier League.

“Ondula is a respected instructor and has sharpened so many coaches and players. He is a seasoned coach full with experience we believe will impact our club positively as we push to achieve our set goals.”

“We have full confidence in him and we expect that the team will start getting positive results,” Ochieng concluded.

The new coach watched as his side thrashed Nyamira Eagles 4-0 in a friendly match played at the Moi Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Ondula’s first league assignment will be on Saturday when they host bottom-placed Mwatate United in Kisumu.

Kisumu All Stars are currently 10th in the National Super League standings after winning four matches, drawing seven and losing four.

All Stars have 19 points, 11 points behind leaders APS Bomet.
