New Gor Mahia head coach Andreas Spier started his reign at the club on a winning note after guiding the team to a convincing 3-1 victory over Posta Rangers in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match at Kasarani Stadium, yesterday.

It was a sweet revenge for K'Ogalo, who lost 3-0 to Rangers when the two teams locked horns on January 26, a poor result that sent British coach Mark Harrison and his technical bench home.

Coincidentally, Posta also played under new management after their head coach Stanley Okumbi left the mailmen with reports of him moving to Germany to upgrade his coaching badges.

His assistant Collins 'Korea' Omondi was in charge of the match.

Peter Lwasa, Sammy Onyango and Sando Yangayay netted for the record Kenyan champions who moved to joint third in the log with 30 points, same as KCB.

At the same time, defending champions Tusker completed a double over Bandari after defeating the dockers 2-0 at Mbaraki.

David Majak and Erick Zakayo netted in each half as the brewers revived their push to defend the title.

The victory propelled Robert Matano’s men to seventh in the log with 26 points, four points off the top four and with a game in hand.

Meanwhile, league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz dropped points for the third consecutive match after being held to a 1-1 draw by relegation threatened Nzoia Sugar at Bukhungu Stadium.

Homeboyz headed into the match behind their 4-4 and 1-1 consecutive draws against second placed Nairobi City Stars, who have now closed the gap to within three points.

Homeboyz top the standing with 34 points after 17 matches.
