Mathare United ended their 12 match winless streak in the FKF Premier League after seeing off Talanta 2-0 in yesterday’s match at Ruaraka Grounds.

It was the type of performance John Kamau wanted as he starts his coaching career at Mathare who registered their second win of the season on October 24 2021 (2-1 Nzoia Sugar).

Danson Kago and Daniel Otieno scored in the opening quarter of the game to hand the slum boys a vital win as they continues push to avoid relegation.

Mathare had a dream start to the match, scoring in the third minute through Kago’s effort before Otieno doubled the lead from the spot. Despite the victory, Mathare still remains second from the bottom with 10 points.

At Kasarani, Nairobi City Stars cut the gap between them and league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz to two points after beating Kariobangi Sharks 1-0.

Ezekiel Odera’s second half goal is all Stars needed to move into the second spot (31).

Elsewhere in Kakamega, Vihiga Bullets held KCB to a barren draw in a clash staged at the Bukhungu Stadium.
