Relegation-threatened Mathare United will be hoping the change of guard at the club will help turn around their poor performance ahead of their FKF Premier League match against AFC Leopards at Nyayo Stadium today.
The Slum Boys on Friday parted ways with Ezekiel Akwana citing poor results. Mathare are currently placed 17th on the log after recording two wins, one draw, and 12 losses in the 15 games played.
They head into the match against Leopards under an interim coach, Francis Xavier, who has been promoted to the head coach position from his previous assistant role. The former AFC Leopards man has been tasked with guiding the club out of the relegation zone.
Mathare will be seeking to revenge midweek’s 3-1 defeat to Ingwe at the same venue.
Away from Nyayo Stadium, five more games are on the cards today with three more scheduled for tomorrow.
