Wazito FC part ways with head coach Francis Kimanzi

Struggling Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Wazito FC have parted ways with head coach Francis Kimanzi.

This is after the former Harambee Stars head coach displayed sluggish results since the start of the 2021/2022 league campaign where they found themselves in the relegation battle as they sit third from bottom on the log having collected a paltry nine points from thirteen games.

Kimanzi departed from the team alongside his assistants Jeff Odongo and John Kamau with goalkeeper coach Samuel Koko also shown the exit door at the club.

Following their exit, former head coach Fred Ambani who is the current Youth Team boss has been reinstated to take charge of first-team duties on an interim basis with immediate effect.

“We can confirm that head coach Francis Kimanzi, his assistants Jeff Odongo and John Kamau, and the goalkeepers' coach Samuel Koko have left the club. We wish them well in their future endeavors. Youth team head coach Fred Ambani assumes first-team duties in the interim with immediate effect,” Wazito confirmed in a statement.

At the start of the 2020/21 season, Wazito appointed experienced Francis Kimanzi  as head coach.

Kimanzi has severally handled the Kenyan national team and helped Kenya attain its best-ever FIFA ranking, 68 in 2008.

 Wazito attained its best-ever finish in the top flight. They finished in the ninth position with 45 points.

Wazito FC has been struggling in the FKF Premier League after three straight loss.

Wazito fell to Vihiga Bullets 2-4 last Sunday four days after loosing against Posta Rangers to 1-4. On 30th December, Bidco club won a gainst Wazito 1-0, ending the Ricardo Badoer team on a loosing edge. ??
