KCB Football Club are the FKF Premier League leaders after 12 rounds played in the 2021-2022 top flight season.

As the bankers overcame a slow start to the new campaign to climb up the ladder to the top hot seat, heavyweights in defending champions Tusker and record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia have found the going tough and are struggling to maintain consistency.

KCB lead the log with 25 points after winning seven matches, drawing four games and losing only one match.

However, the bankers are tied on 25 points with Kakamega Homeboyz but are leading courtesy of a superior goal difference of nine goals, two more than the latter.

Bandari follow closely in third place with 22 points and could join both KCB and Homeboyz on 25 points if they win their game in hand match next week.

Kariobangi Sharks who ended their four match winless streak in the course of the week close the top four teams on 21 points.

Nairobi City Stars and newbies FC Talanta are tied in fifth on 20 points.

On the back foot, Gor Mahia are finding it rough after failing to win any of their last four matches.

K’Ogalo last victory came in December 9th last year where they defeated Vihiga Bullets 3-0. Since then, the record champions have lost twice (Homeboyz 2-1 and 2-0 City Stars) and drawn twice (Nzoia Sugar 1-1 and Bandari 0-0).

The poor form has left Gor seventh in the log with 19 points but with a game in hand.

Defending champions Tusker have been struggling to hit the road running in the 2021-2022 season but seems to have found their missing gear in the last two games.

Victory against Mathare United and Bidco United have propelled the brewers to 10th in the log with 16 points and two games in hand.

In the relegation zone, Vihiga United are rooted at the bottom of the log with two points registered after draws against Bidco and AFC Leopards.
