Visiting Bandari stretched their unbeaten run to eight matches after defeating Sofapaka 1-0 in a midweek FKF Premier League match played at Wundanyi Stadium, Taita Taveta County.

Danson Chetambe struck five minutes from full time to send the dockers third in the log

Hosts Sofapaka failed to utilize their home ground advantage in the defeat which leaves them eighth with 18 points.

Bandari scored their goal in the second half through a free kick set piece converted by Chatembe.

Speaking after the match, Bandari coach Andre Cassa Mbungo said he was impressed by the team’s performance but called for more from his strikers.

"We played well and we are happy that we came out with all the three points. It is not always easy to do so when playing away from home ground.”

“However, we need to work on scoring more goals and kill the game early because in football anything can happen within less minutes of full time. That we are going to work on,” he said.

The win propelled the dockers to third in the log on 22 points but still with a game in hand.
