Kakamega Homeboyz on Wednesday moved to the summit of the FKF Premier League table after coming from two goals down to force a 2-2 draw with Mathare United in the midweek match played at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega on Wednesday.

Heading to the game, Homeboyz were unbeaten in the league with five wins and a draw.

The Slum Boys on the other hand had lost their last three games.

Eugene Wethuli and Brian Eshihanda’s first half own goal had gifted the Slum Boys a shocking 2-0 with 10 minutes left on the clock.

However, two quick goals scored by Yema Mwana and Sunday Mutuku saw Homeboyz rally to share the spoils.

The draw saw the Kakamega side stretch their unbeaten run to seven matches in the new season

The Kakamega based side has defeated Nzoia Sugar, Wazito and Kenya Police (1-0), Vihiga Bullets (3-2), Posta Rangers (2-0) and drew against Bandari (1-1) and now Mathare United.

In the process, Homeboyz leapfrogged Kariobangi Sharks to the summit of the table with 17 points, one more than the latter and with a game at hand.
