KCB thrash Vihiga Bullets to move third

Last seasons’ runners up KCB on Sunday thrashed relegation threatened Vihiga Bullets 3-1 in the sole FKF Premier League match played at the Utalii grounds.

James Mazembe, Michael Mutinda and Derrick Otanga struck for the bankers who in the process registered their fourth straight win in the league after a slow start.

Kevin Sagida on the other hand grabbed Bullets's consolation goal as the newbies winless run stretch to seven games.

The win saw KCB move to third in the log with 14 points, same as Gor Mahia but with a greater goal difference.

Vihiga Bullets meanwhile once again failed to register their first topflight football match win and remain bottom of the table with one point collected from their draw registered when they played against Bidco United at the start of the season.

Mazembe opened the scoring in the 24th minute  before setting up Michael Mutinda who scored to put the bankers' 2-0 up leading to the break.

KCB would proceed to put the match beyond the visitors after tDerrick Otanga scored seven minutes after the hour mark.

Sagida grabbed a consolation goal for the visitors in the 90th minute.

Kariobangi Sharks lead the log with 16 points followed by Kakamega Homeboyz.
