Wazito FC poor start to the 2021-2022 FKF Premier League seasons continued on Friday after losing 2-0 to KCB in a match played at Kasarani.

Derrick Otanga put a Man of the Match performance to inspire the bankers to victory with his two goals scored in each half.

The win propelled KCB to joint fifth in the log with 11 points from six matches.

On the other hand, the defeat left Wazito winless in the opening six matches played.

After six matches, Wazito have managed two identical 1-1 draw against newbies Talanta and Kariobangi Sharks and lost four games against Kakamega Homeboyz (1-0), Nairobi City Stars (3-1), Tusker (2-0) and now KCB.

The winless run has left the club second last in the 18-team standings with two points registered from their two draws, one point above bottom-placed Vihiga Bullets.

The poor results are expected to put head coach Francis Kimanzi under pressure to perform as speculations continue to whether he will be given a chance or fired.

Kimanzi joined ‘moneybags’ Wazito last year in November after leaving Harambee Stars.

Brought in to help the club win the league title, that dream was washed away last season with Tusker emerging victorious and it seems after five matches, the objective will be even tough to achieve if the recent results are anything to go by.

He helped the team to ninth-place finish last season where Wazito registered 12 wins, 9 draws and 11 defeats, an improvement to their 2019-2020 short campaign (cut short due to covid-19) where they were ranked 13th.

It is only time that will tell if the veteran tactician will remain the boss at Wazito or face the axe ahead of their two crucial fixtures against Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.
