Joash Onyango out as Firat names Harambee Squad for World Cup qualifiers

Former Gor Mahia defender and (Kenyan Premier League) KPL Most Valuable Player Joash Onyango has been left out of the national team again after Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat named his 27-man squad for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Uganda and Rwanda on Monday.
After being overlooked by former coach Jacob Mulee, Onyango who turns out for Tanzanian giants Simba SC was handed a lifeline by the Turkish tactician in October which turned out to be disastrous after Kenya was hammered 5-0 by Mali.
On the bright side, Firat has handed debut call ups to Belgium based Wilkins Ochieng and Nairobi City Stars’ Timothy Ouma.
Michael Mutinda, Philemon Otieno, Anthony Akumu and Eric Johanna make a return to the Stars fold.
Stars are scheduled to kick off residential training on November 6, 2021, in Nairobi.

The team plays against Uganda on November 11, at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende, and against Rwanda on November 15 at the Nyayo National Stadium.
