Newly promoted side FC Talanta registered their second win of the season after shocking defending champions Tusker 2-1 in a rescheduled FKF Premier League match played at Ruaraka Grounds on Wednesday.

Francis Kahiro scored a brace in the win which saw Jackson Macharia score the consolation goal for the champions.

Talanta headed into the match behind their 2-0 win over Vihiga Bullets over the weekend and are now unbeaten with four matches played, drawing two and winning two matches.

Tusker on the other hand remained at the bottom of the standings without a point after losing their two opening fixtures. They lost to AFC Leopards 1-0 last month before going down to Talanta.

In the match, Talanta opened the scoring in the 10th minute as Francis Kahiro pounced on a loose ball in the penalty area which he put into the back of the net and past a helpless Brian Bwire.

Tusker could have drawn level in the 36th minute as Senaji put Stewert through on goal but his effort went over the bar.

In the final half, Tusker grabbed their equalizer through Macharia in the 56th minute

However, Talanta would have the last laugh after Kahiro restored the lead ten minutes later to complete his brace.

Talanta moved fifth on the log with eight points, one point behind leaders Nairobi City Stars who are joint top alongside Gor Mahia, Kakamega Homeboyz and Bandari.
