Bandari top FKF Premier League table after thrashing Mathare United

Bandari are temporarily top of the FKF Premier League after they thrashed Mathare United 3-0 during their opening match of the season played at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa on Saturday.

New signing Whyvonne Isuza scored a first-half brace in his debut to steer Bandari to victory as Ugandan import Umar Kasumba sealed all the three points with the third goal in the final half.

The win took Bandari top of the standings temporarily with three points and three goals.

Former champions Gor Mahia are second after their 2-1 win over KCB at Thika Stadium. Benson Omalla’s brace was enough to hand the record Kenyan champions the win which sees them stay on three points but with a goal difference of one goal.

Kariobangi Sharks are third after their 1-0 win over edge Posta Rangers. With their star striker Erick Kapaito now out of the club, Erick Mmata rose to the occasion to score the winner for Sharks who are third but also with three points.

For matches are on the cards on Sunday including the big match between champions Tusker and AFC Leopards.

Meanwhile, newbies Talanta and Vihiga Bullets avoided defeat on their debut after playing out draws in their respective fixture.

Talana rallied from behind to hold Wazito to a 1-1 draw as Bullets played out to a 0-0 draw against Bidco United in Kakamega.
