Newly promoted side Kenya Police FC wants to be among the two clubs that will represent the country in CAF competitions in the next few seasons.

"Next season, we will be the team that will represent Kenya in the CAF competitions," Kenya Police FC chairman Nyale Munga said.

Munga was speaking on Thursday in Nairobi during a luncheon organised for the team, by the Inspector General, Hillary Mutyambai.

The side edged out Vihiga United FC 1-0 (2-1 aggregate) in the promotion/relegation play-off battle held at the Utali Sports Club in Nairobi last Sunday.

Munga's sentiments were echoed by head coach John Bobby Ogola who send a stern warning to other clubs to prepare for a bruising battle in the league that kicks off today.

Ogola said the disciplined forces will be all out to let their rivals feel their presence, starting with Kakamega Homeboyz FC tomorrow in Bukhungu.

"We are not going to be just mere participants in the league, we are going to participate effectively," Ogola told Standard Sports.

"When I joined the club, most players did not have confidence but I am happy that the boys are believing in themselves.

"This is a positive development as we play in top tier league," he added.

The Gor Mahia FC legend said he will strengthen the defence and a bit of the striking force for the new season.

"I won't overhaul the whole team. I have also asked the players if there is any who wants to leave but so far there is none.

"The new players to join the squad will be known to us by Sunday," said Ogola.

Ogola sais they head to the match against Homeboyz as underdogs.

"But we are not afraid of them, we are ready for our opponents."

Team captain, Phillip Odongo, who has been with the side since 2014 said they will strive to stay afloat in the FKF-PL.
