Goalkeeper Joseph Okoth has re-joined Bandari after his stint with KCB Bank FC as the coastal side gears up for the new FKF Premier League season.

Okoth, who has been solid behind the sticks for the bankers is among the new signings to be unveiled this week in Mombasa.

“We have concluded signing former KCB goalkeeper Joseph Okoth, who has officially joined the team,” said Bandari Media Liason Officer Steven Heywood. Heywood said more players will be unveiled this week when the team returns from Nairobi where it had camped for pre-season training.

The dockers played Vapor Sports Club last Thursday in a friendly match where the former won 8-1 and drew 2-2 with Kariobangi Sharks at Utalii ground on Saturday. Bandari travel back to Mombasa today to prepare for their league opener against Mathare United on Saturday at Mbaraki Sports Club. Coach Andre Mbungo was impressed by the performance of his boys during the two friendly matches.

“We decided to train in Nairobi so that we can experience a different weather from Mombasa. We shall be playing most of our league matches away from Mombasa thus the need to train outside Coast region for acclimatization purposes,” said Heywood.

“We played the two buildup matches to gauge the fitness of our players,” said the club’s Technical Director Twahir Muhiddin.
