The FKF Premier League season is set for dramatic finish as the battle for the title goes down to the wire with Tusker and KCB strongly in contention.

With less than three matches remaining, Tusker and KCB are tied at the top of the table with 58 points though the brewers have a better goal difference.

A similar situation will be witnessed at the bottom of the table with the trio of Mathare United, Western Stima and Vihiga United fighting to survive the drop.

The bankers and the brewers have been shifting positions at the summit for the better part of the season but both know there is no room for slip-ups ahead of this weekend’s fixtures.

While Tusker face another real test of character against top four hopefuls Kakamega Homeboyz at Ruaraka Grounds tomorrow, the bankers will be on the road to battle with wounded Vihiga United in Mumias.

Today will see Ulinzi Stars kick off the round of 32 with a match against AFC Leopards at the ASK Showground in Nakuru.

The soldiers will be seeking to extend their unbeaten run to four matches against a Leopards side who bounced back to winning ways after beating Vihiga United 3-1 last weekend.

Unlike Tusker, KCB have been considered favourites ahead of their match against Vihiga. While a win for the bankers will increase their chances of winning their first ever league title, a defeat or a draw for Vihiga will complicate their relegation survival chances.

After this weekend’s fixtures, the two title contenders will still be remaining with relatively tough matches. Tusker have a date with Nzoia Sugar and newbies Bidco United while KCB face AFC Leopards and Nairobi City Stars.

At the bottom, Mathare United, Western Stima and Vihiga United are all fighting to stay up with two points separating them.

Vihiga are bottom of the log with 20 points, two points behind Stima who occupy the relegation playoff spot with 22 points.
