Posta Rangers on Tuesday completed a double over relegation-threatened Vihiga United after narrowly edging them out 2-1 in a tight midweek FKF Premier League match played at Thika Stadium.

Michael ‘Sunday’ Apudo gave Rangers the lead in the 26th minute after sending Vihiga’s keeper Morgan Ambuka the wrong way from the penalty spot.

Laurence Luvanda would however restore parity for Vihiga United four minutes from halftime after tapping in from close range to tie the scores at 1-1 going to the break.

The mailmen would leave it late with Francis Nambute’s goal in the 89th minute sealing all the three points for Posta Rangers.

The victory saw Rangers register their second consecutive win after building from their shocking 2-0 victory over title hopeful KCB Football Club last weekend.

The win sees Rangers remain 12th in the standings with 34 points, 14 points above the relegation zone.

Vihiga on the other side remained in the danger zone losing their 17 matches of the season and could find themselves bottom of the standings by the end of the midweek matches on Wednesday.

Vihiga are 16 in the standings with 20 points, two more than bottom-placed Mathare United who have two games in hand.
