Kisumu All Stars returned to winning ways after thrashing Coast Stima 4-0 in a one-sided National Super League match played over the weekend.

The win saw the former FKF Premier League side revive their promotion hopes after moving to 10th in the standings with 37 points, 10 points behind the three promotion spots.

All-Stars have played 26 matches, four matches fewer than the current top three teams namely FC Talanta, Fortune Sacco, Kenya Police and Kibera Black Stars.

Victory in their four games in hand will propel the lakeside team to a place in the three promotion spots.

Meanwhile, FC Talanta narrowly edged out second-placed Fortune Sacco 1-0 to consolidate their lead atop the super league standings.

The victory saw Talanta open a six-point gap between them and Fortune Sacco with 57 points and a game in hand.

Kenya Police moved joint third in the standings after thrashing Gusii FC 3-0 to take their tally of the season to 47 points same as Kibera Black Stars who slipped after losing 2-1 to Mwatate United.

Shabana FC hopes of qualifying for the Premier League next season hit a snag after they lost 2-0 at home to APS Bomet.

The result saw the Gusiiland football giants remain fifth with 44 points, three points off the promotion spots but having played a game more.

In the relegation zone, Coast Stima, Kisumu Hot Stars and Soy United hold the bottom three spots.
