Harambee Stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi has paid tribute to Saint George Sports Club after announcing his departure from the Ethiopian giants on Friday.

Matasi, 33, is expected to join his former club and current FKF Premier League Leaders Tusker FC.

The former Posta Rangers stopper took to Social media to thank his fellow players and club for helping them grow as a player.

“I would like to appreciate the Saint George SA fraternity for giving me the opportunity to work with and for them since 2018.”

“41 matches and 22 clean sheets later, the time has come for me to say goodbye to the club that I so loyally served. I leave Ethiopia with more experience, not just in the game but also in life in general.”

“Special thanks to all the fans and my teammates for the immense support and all the best in the future,” posted Matasi in his Facebook account.

In the meantime, Matasi has not been in a position to confirm officially which interested clubs he has been in contact with having been busy attending to his family after they suffered a gruesome accident last month.

Matasi and his family were involved in a grisly road accident on June 1 but has since resumed personal training while his wife and kid continue their recuperation.

He joined Tusker in 2018 from Posta Rangers but left the same year for Ethiopia where he has been, and a move back could see him play at the continental stage next season.
