NSL: Talanta, Fortune Sacco lead race for Premier League

FC Talanta opened a six-point gap between them and the chasing pack after edging out Mount Kenya 2-1 in the round 28 National Super League matches.
The victory saw Talanta stretch their lead atop the standings to 53 points with their 16th win of the campaign and with a game in hand.
Talanta are now in the driving seat in the race to earn the two automatic tickets for promotion to the FKF Premier League next season. If they win their game in hand, Talanta will open a nine-point gap between them and their rivals.
Kenya Police on the other side dropped three important points after losing 2-1 to a resilient Coast Stima side.
The loss saw Police drop to third in the standings with 44 points having played a game more than leaders Talanta.

Fortune Sacco revived their promotion hopes after edging out Mwatate 5-1. The win saw them move to second in the standings with 47 points, three points more than Police.
Kibera Black Stars remained joint third with Police on 44 points despite a heavy 4-1 loss to Modern Coast Rangers.
Shabana failed to capitalise on Police slip after drawing 3-3 in a six goal thriller match against Gusii FC. They remain fifth in the log with 43 points and in the race for promotion.
Soy United, Kisumu Hot Stars and Coast Stima remain in the bottom three positions and risk being relegated to Division One next season.
Talanta, Kenya Police, Fortune Sacco, Shabana and Kibera Black Stars remain on course to earn premier league promotion.
