AFC Leopards taking on Sofapaka will highlight the return of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League after a two-week break with eight midweek matches on the cards.

Fresh from booking a Mashemeji Derby FKF Cup final against Gor Mahia, second placed Leopards will be seeking to catch league leaders Tusker as FKF Premier League resumes on Tuesday with the race to be top by June 30 continues.

According to FKF, the team that will be top by June 30 will claim the sole Caf Champions League ticket.

Tusker, who were knocked out by AFC Leopards in the FKF Cup quarterfinal stage, face Posta Rangers at Ruaraka grounds which will host a double header on Tuesday.

Nairobi City Stars will welcome Western Stima at Ruaraka at 1pm in the early kick-off match.

In Bungoma, Nzoia Sugar will welcome Vihiga United as Bandari entertain Ulinzi Stars in Mombasa.

On Wednesday, KCB, joint second with Leopards but with a greater goal difference, will play FKF Cup semifinalists Bidco United with Anthony Akhulia saying their focus is to remain in the league.

“We played very well in the FKF Cup but were unlucky in the semis. Reaching that stage is not easy and we pick positives from the knockout competition as we now train our eyes on the league,” said the Bidco tactician.

Ingwe will then travel to play Sofapaka in Wundanyi as defending champions Gor Mahia seek to bag their sixth win in a row when they play bottom placed Mathare United.
