Sergio Aguero has reportedly been left angered by the way Pep Guardiola has dealt with his imminent departure from Manchester City.

After ten glorious years at the Etihad it was announced earlier this year that the Argentinean forward would be moving on in the summer, and he made his final Premier League appearance on Sunday, scoring twice in a 5-0 win against Everton.

Speaking about Aguero after the match in an interview with Sky Sports Guardiola was left in tears as he described the 32-year-old as "a special person for all of us."

But according to The Athletic things have not always been so amicable between the pair this season.

They claim that Aguero would have been happy to stay at City, but that it was Guardiola who decided the time was right for him to leave.

And it is believed that the two men spent a few weeks in March not talking, with Aguero left out of the team despite being fit to play for the majority of the time.

Nevertheless, they embraced each other during City's title celebrations at the weekend, and appear to have made up after their falling out.

Guardiola could certainly have not been more effusive in his praise of Aguero and the impact he has had for City over the years.

The visibly emotional manager said: "We love him so much. He is a special person for all of us. He is so nice, he is so nice. He helped me a lot, he's so good.

"We cannot replace him. We cannot. They are many players we have had to discard like him, Joe Hart and David Silva, who have helped us this club to be what it is."

Aguero is believed to be closing in on a move to Barcelona, and will sign a two-year contract with the Catalan giants in the next few weeks.
