Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL) action will resume today (Friday), The Standard Sports confirmed on Thursday.

The development came barely a day before the rescheduled restart date of the domestic league which had been suspended for the second time on March 26 by the Government alongside other sporting activities due to the surge in COVID-19 infections.

Kakamega Homeboyz will take on fourth-placed Kariobangi Sharks at the Utalii grounds in Nairobi from 3pm, East African Time.

Four mouthwatering clashes are scheduled to take place on Saturday before perennial Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia take on Nairobi City Stars on Sunday, May 16, 2021. Sofapaka will take on Wazito the same day.

Seven FKF PL clubs on Wednesday underwent COVID-19 tests ahead of the league resumption.

Tusker, Western Stima, Nairobi City Stars, Kariobangi Sharks, AFC Leopards, Bandari, and Nzoia Sugar staff were tested in line with the set Ministry of Health and Ministry of Sports COVID-19 protocols.

Bidco United kicked off the exercise on Tuesday, at the Delmonte grounds with Mathare United, Gor Mahia, Posta Rangers, KCB, and Kakamega Homeboys following suit at the Goan Institute, Ligi Ndogo grounds, Jamhuri Grounds, KCB training grounds, and Bukhungu Stadium respectively.

Staff at Vihiga United, Ulinzi Stars, Wazito, and Sofapaka were tested on Thursday at the Senende High School, Nakuru Barracks, Marist University college, and Eastleigh high school respectively.
