Spanish outfit Valencia have sacked head coach Javi Gracia.

With only four games to go in La Liga this season, Los Murciélagos have now gone six games without a win, the latest, 3-2 loss at home at the hands of Barcelona on Sunday night.

Salvador González 'Voro', the club’s long-serving staff will take over as caretaker boss.

“Valencia CF have informed Javi Gracia of his dismissal as coach of the first team, as of Monday. The club would like to publicly thank him for his work and dedication during his time coaching the team, and wish him the best of success for the future. Salvador González 'Voro' will take charge of the first team on an interim basis,” said the club on their website.

Valencia are now 14th on the log, six points above 18-placed Huesca.

Gracia was appointed last July and boasts a win percentage of 23 per cent in the league, the lowest ever for a Valencia manager since Cesare Prandelli’s record in 2016.

Prandelli stepped down after only eight La Liga games, with only one win.

Valencia host Real Valladolid next in La Liga at the Mestalla Stadium on Sunday.
