Furious Roma fans have erected anti- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer posters at the club’s training ground in the lead up to their Europa League semi-final clash with Manchester United.

The Serie A side will travel to Old Trafford on Thursday for the first leg of the match-up, with the winner advancing to May’s final.

With two of Europe’s biggest clubs facing each other, it was a tie that needed little added spice, but United boss Solskjaer has provided it.

The Norwegian’s comments about Pablo Fonseca’s side has infuriated Roma’s supporters, who have now shown their anger by sticking posters up outside the Trigoria training ground.

Following his side’s win over Granada in their quarter-final tie at the start of this month, Solskjaer admitted that he did not know much about the team the Red Devils would be facing.

“I don’t know them and I haven’t seen them play”, Solskjaer told BT Sport when asked about the challenge Roma pose following the defeat of the Spanish team.

That comment appears to have offended some Roma supporters, who have seen it as evidence of United dismissing them.

As a result, a string of posters have been erected at the Italian side’s base.

The posters carry the image of Solskajer, with the infamous quote followed by the caption “make sure he remembers us”.

It appears that Solskjaer has since done more research on the team that they will have to defeat to advance to the final in Gdansk.

"Roma defend well, as Italians always do of course. They’re an experienced team and we all know Edin Dzeko, so any ball in the box is a dangerous one,” he said.

“We’re in a semi-final now and it feels like a proper European tie, because Roma is a club with loads of tradition and history, but we’ve done well against Italian teams before.”
