Nzoia Sugar completed a second-half comeback to shock defending champions Gor Mahia 2-1 in a tight contested Football Kenya Federation-Premier League match at Mumias Complex on Saturday.

The win saw Nzoia leapfrog Gor to ninth in the league standings with 17points, one point above K'Ogalo who have four games in hand.

Samuel Onyango had given the visitors a narrow 1-0 lead in the first half after scoring in the 22nd minute.

Nzoia would however come back into the game after midfielder Ibrahim Masha restored parity with a 54th-minute goal for a 1-1 scoreline.

Gor tried to penetrate the hosts defence searching for a winner but it was Nzoia who had the last laugh when they took the lead eight minutes from time through Moses Mwale.

Mwale’s goal would prove vital for the sugar men as they held on to register their fourth win of the campaign.

The loss left Gor tied in 10th place with 16 points alongside Nairobi City Stars.

In Nairobi, Batts Awita scored a last-minute goal as Bidco United defeated league leaders Tusker 2-1 at Kasarani Stadium Annex.

The win saw Bidco end Tusker's 13-match unbeaten run and move them to seventh in the log with 20 points.

Former Ulinzi Stars and Sofapaka forward Stephen Waruru gave Bidco the lead in the 15th minute before Humphrey Mieno levelled the scores 10 minutes from time from the spot.

The match was poised for a draw before Awita hit the target to hand Anthony Akhulia’s charges their fifth win of the season.

In another match, relegation-threatened Western Stima held Vihiga United to a barren draw in the early kick-off match played at Mumias Complex.

On Sunday, Kakamega Homeboyz will host rivals AFC Leopards at Bukhungu Stadium as KCB eye to close the gap between them and leaders Tusker to three points when they host Kariobangi Sharks.
