Former Harambee Stars striker Allan Wanga scored in the extra time as Kakamega Homeboyz completed a second-half comeback to edge out 10-man Western Stima 3-2 in an entertaining five-goal thriller at Moi Stadium.

The win saw the Kakamega based outfit climb three places up to 10th in the log with 14 points, same as Sofapaka and Nzoia Sugar.

Syll Owino had given the visitors a 17th-minute lead before Kennedy Otieno restored parity minutes later.

Ugandan Isaac Mweru would give Stima the lead at the half hour mark as the host took a narrow 2-1 lead at the break.

In the second half, Homeboyz responded by bringing in Allan Wanga for Chris Masinza and David Okoth for Stephen Etyang.

The two substitutes immediately combined and Wanga would have restored parity for Homeboyz but saw his strike go wide in the 70th minute after being teed up by Okoth.

Robert Arrot would then come in for Ali Bhai in the 76th minute as the visitors continued pushing for an equaliser.

However, tragedy would befall Stima after Clinton Bulimo was shown a straight red card in the 81st minute for dangerous play.

Homeboyz would immediately take advantage of the one man less Stima to equalise in the 85th minute through substitute Arrot.

The drama would not end till the last kick of the game when former AFC Leopard striker Wanga scored the winner in the 90+2.

The loss left Western Stima rooted in the relegation zone with seven points from 12 matches played.
