FC Talanta leapfrogged Kenya Police to go top of the National Super League (NSL) following their 1-0 win over MCF in the round nine action played on Sunday.

Edwin Mwaura’s lone goal from the penalty in the 61st minute saw Talanta collect maximum points and move joint top of the NSL standings with Police on 19 points and with a greater goal difference.

Kenya Police failed to maintain their two goal advantage they had atop the standings after rallying late to draw 1-1 against a resurgent Kisumu Hot Stars side.

The draw left Police with 19 points as Hot Stars dropped to seventh in the log from fifth with 14 points.

In the lakeside, former Premier League side Kisumu All-Stars registered the highlight of the weekend when they thrashed Mt.Kenya United 5-2 at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu.

A brace by Steve Otieno coupled with a goal apiece by Felix Seda, Alfred Emoni, and Patrick Ochieng, saw Kisumu Allstars moving to fourth in the log with 16 points, only one shy of third-placed Fortune Sacco.

Kevin Ndungu and Leroy Otieno were on target for Mt. Kenya United.
