Posta’s Pamzo seeks quick response against ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/sports/football/2001402067/gor-mahia-warms-up-to-mashemeji-derby-with-win-over-bandari-tusker-climb-to-top-of-table">Bidco United< as struggling Mathare United and Western Stima face off.

Posta Rangers coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo insists that his decision to join Gor Mahia for continental assignments did not affect the performance of the mailmen in the FKF Premier League.

The former Kenyan international was roped in by the ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/sports/football/2001402067/gor-mahia-warms-up-to-mashemeji-derby-with-win-over-bandari-tusker-climb-to-top-of-table">Gor Mahia management< on a temporary basis in November last year after their immediate former Brazilian coach Roberto Oliveira was disqualified from handling the team in the Caf Champions League.

Pamzo was in-charge of Gor in four Champions League matches, guiding the record Kenyan champions to the first round of the competition with a 4-3 ( 1-2, 3-1) aggregate win over APR of Rwanda before dropping to the Confederation Cup following a humiliating 8-1 (6-0, 2-1) defeat on aggregate to Algeria’s CR Belouizdad.

And while the sixth-placed K’Ogalo are slowly but surely bouncing back to the domestic scene after garnering 15 points in their opening eight matches, it appears things have not been rosy for the mailmen.

Twelfth-placed Rangers (10 points) have only managed to secure one win in their opening ten matches with the rest of the points coming from their seven draws. Last Saturday’s 2-1 loss to AFC Leopards was their second defeat of the season after losing 3-0 to KCB in the season opener.

“We are relaxed and focused at Posta Rangers. I had just gone to assist Gor Mahia as per the agreement between the two clubs and now I’m fully back at Posta Rangers where I have a contract,” Pamzo told Standard Sports.

“I don’t think that movement affected our performance in any way because we had been doing well until we lost to AFC Leopards.”

Pamzo, however, has demanded an immediate response from his players as they clash with newcomers Bidco United at Utalii Grounds today (3pm).

“We will continue from where we left against ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/sports/football/2001402067/gor-mahia-warms-up-to-mashemeji-derby-with-win-over-bandari-tusker-climb-to-top-of-table">AFC Leopards i“We had a chance of either winning or getting a draw in our last match, but that didn’t work out. We need to be more clinical in front of goal and defend well in our upcoming matches including the Bidco fixture.”

Tomorrow will also see Mathare United seek to recover from their 1-0 defeat to league leaders Tusker when they host Western Stima in a relegation battle at Kasarani.
