NSL: Kisumu Hot Stars thrash Gusii as Soy United hold Kisumu All Stars in Kisumu

Kisumu Hot Stars (Chemelil Sugar) bounced back to winning ways after thrashing hosts Gusii FC (Sony Sugar) 3-0 in an entertaining National Super League (NSL) match played at Gusii Stadium in Kisii on Sunday.

Godfrey Okea gave the visitors a first-half 1-0 lead before doubling the scores at the hour mark.

Vincent Wanga would, however, seal Hot Stars first away win of the campaign with a late goal before stoppage time with the lakeside outfit collecting all three points.

The win saw Hot Stars, commonly referred to as ‘Opuk’ four places up from 14th into the mid-table with 10 points from seven matches played.

In Kisumu, Soy United’s Calvin Malidadi scored in stoppage time to force a 2-2 draw against Kisumu All Stars at Moi Stadium.

Seth Oyugi had given All Stars the lead inside three minutes, scoring in his second consecutive match before Arnold Omondi strike in the 25th minute ensured the two sides went to the break tied at 1-1.

Alvin Chicha though he had scored an 87th minute winner for the former premier league side but the party was spoiled by Malidadi who rescued a point for the former Division One side.

The draw left All Stars fourth in the standings with 13 points as moved out of the relegation to 17th in the log with five points.

Other matches saw Silibwet edge out Mwatate 2-0, Kenya Police play out a 1-1 draw against Fortune Sacco as Shaban defeated Vihiga Bullets 2-1 at their back yard.
