Mathare United coach Salim Ali insists his side is motivated by the recent 2-0 win over Zoo ahead of today’s FKF Premier League match against Bandari at Kasarani Stadium.

The 2008 champions had a stuttering start to the season conceding seven goals as they fell 4-2 to Sofapaka in their opening match before losing 3-1 to record champions Gor Mahia.

Though Mathare are faced with a congested fixture list, Ali has urged his players to draw motivation from Monday’s victory against Zoo. The 17th placed side still has five matches in hand.

“As you are aware we have very minimal time for training and rest due to the congested fixtures, but I believe we are ready for the Bandari match,” Ali told Standard Sports.

“Losing two games in a row with seven goals is really hurting, but I’m happy with how the boys responded against Zoo. Monday’s win was a big boost for us and I hope it will motivate the boys when we play Bandari.

“We have learnt a lot in our last three matches and I think we are improving game after game. We are looking forward to positive results.”
