Marcus Rashford is in line for a lucrative new Manchester United contract in the new year.

Rashford is in the best form of his career, with 12 goals for United already this season, with the new deal set to reflect his growing importance and influence to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's developing side.

The 23-year-old is under contract until 2023, with the option for an extra year, with United understood to want to tie Rashford down to a new long-term deal before next summer's Euros.

Rashford's match-winning performances for United, the latest his two-goal heroics in Thursday's 3-2 win at Sheffield United, have caught the attention of Europe's top clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris St Germain.

United know Rashford, currently on £200,000-a-week, will be in even greater demand if he lights up Euro 2020 in next year's delayed tournament, which is why they are poised to offer a contract extension before then.

The Reds want to ensure all of their key players are tied down to long-term agreements, to aid Solskjaer's ongoing rebuild, with playmaker Bruno Fernandes also set to be offered an improved deal, less than a year after arriving from Sporting Lisbon.

Rashford has enjoyed a meteoric rise since making his United debut in February 2016, as an unknown 18-year-old, since when he has scored 79 goals in 234 appearances for the Reds.

The England forward has also seen his global profile soar following his lobbying of the Government to extend free school meal provision to all vulnerable children in the UK.

Rashford's formidable campaigning has earned him worldwide praise as well as an MBE, with the forward determined to continue to continue his work away from football.
