Giggs 'arrested on suspicion of assaulting girlfriend and second person on same night'

Football boss Ryan Giggs was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a second person.

The Wales football manager, 46, was arrested at his home in Worsley, Greater Manchester after police were called to reports of a disturbance around 10pm Sunday.

Reports claimed he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend, Kate Grenville, 36.

When quizzed about the allegation Mr Giggs had assaulted Ms Grenville earlier this week,his agent told the Mirror he is co-operating with a police investigation, and denies all assault allegations against him.

Mr Giggs was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a second person on the same evening.

A Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman said officers were called at 10.05pm on Sunday, November 1, to an address at Chatsworth Rd, Worsley, where a man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting two people.

"A woman in her 30s sustained minor injuries but did not require any treatment," she said.

"A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 47 assault and section 39 common assault. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

"Enquiries are ongoing."

The force declined to identify anyone involved in the incident.

Mr Giggs' agent did not respond to a request for comment regarding the allegation of a second assault victim.
