Nigerian International Odion Ighalo is the latest player to join Manchester United.

The striker from Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua becomes the first Nigerian to join the Red Devils 15 years after the collapse of John Obi Mikel's  transfer to Old Trafford.

The striker, who claims to have been a Man United fan since he was a boy described the move as a 'dream come true', pledging to do his best for the club.

"It is a dream come true because since I was a kid I always dreamt about Man United. This is a reality now, I can't say much now till when I get started," Ighalo told Sky Sports on his arrival in Manchester.

Following his move to the EPL outfits, football fanatics took to social media to congratulate him.

Ighalo becomes United's first senior loan signing since Radamel Falcao's arrival from Monaco in 2014.

The 30-year-old is a good striking reinforcement to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side having scored ten goals in 19 appearances for Shanghai Shenhua this season.

Solskjaer recognised Ighalo's recent achievements in the African Cup of Nations last year where he found the back of the net five times, assisting once.

“I'm delighted that he wanted to come for a few months on loan, from now until the end of the season. For us, it's great to have him around and I know he's such a Manchester United fan, he will give absolutely everything - on and off the pitch,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports news.

Additionally, the center forward also produced an outstanding performance for the Super Eagles netting seven goals in the AFCON 2019 qualifiers.

The question remains… Will Ighalo prove pivotal to Solskjaer’s striking woes ahead of his anticipated debut after the winter break?

Time will tell.
