We've seen him do it before and now Wayne Rooney is at it again in the MLS by scoring a goal from inside his own half of the pitch.

Who can forget when during his peak years at Manchester United Rooney stunned Upton Park by scoring from the halfway line against West Ham in the 2013-2014 season?

He netted from even further out against the same team a few years later, this time for Everton during a routine 4-0 win in the 2017-2018 season.

And now he has surely somehow bettered even those two goals by striking from comfortably inside his own half of the pitch just before the ten-minute mark to leave the Orlando goalkeeper stunned.

Twitter users were certainly impressed with the incredible strike. One fan said "One of the greatest players in the world back in his prime. and he's still got it now!"

Rooney, now 33, is playing in his second MLS season, where he has generally impressed for DC United since his move from Everton in 2018.

He scored 12 goals in 21 games in his first season and has currently scored eight in 14 appearances this season.

DC United are currently third in the table, behind only Philadelphia and Montreal Impact.

Ironically Rooney has also grabbed the headlines against Orlando before.

It was not for a spectacular goal, but more for his work ethic and determination, as last season he tracked back to win a tackle and then cross from deep for Luciano Acosta to score a last-minute winner in a 3-2 victory.
