Sergio Aguero well and truly baffled the internet on Sunday.

The Manchester City striker was taken off shortly after scoring in his side's Premier League win over Arsenal at the Etihad.

The Argentina forward started the game in favour of Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus, as Man City took the lead in the first half through Kevin De Bruyne.

After the break Aguero changed his boots - removing a bright gold pair worn to commemorate becoming City's all-time leading goalscorer, for an all-black pair.

He added the home side's second moments later after Nacho Monreal went in clumsily on Raheem Sterling.

The referee pointed to the spot and Aguero smashed the ball past Petr Cech, onto the post, and into the Arsenal goal.

But despite his goal, Pep Guardiola decided to take him off for Jesus, who added the Citizens' third in the 3-1 win.

On his way off the pitch, Aguero was seen holding onto a little black box.

No one could work out what it was, as many started to make a number of possible - and ridiculous - sugg One fan claimed it was a phone, another a pager, while a third said it was the little device a restaurant gives you when you're waiting for a table...

The device was in a fact the battery pack for the referee's microphone. Quite why Aguero was holding onto it though is another story.
