Shabana Football Club have landed shirt sponsorship from Asia’s leading betting firm, Dafabet, which recently arrived in Kenya.

The deal with one of Kenya’s oldest clubs with a huge community presence represents a major coup for Dafabet, who have also sealed a deal with National Super League side, Wazito FC, as their official betting partners.

Dafabet is the flagship brand of Asia Betting & Gaming Enterprises Limited, which offers live sports betting, virtual games, and jackpot games via the web, SMS, mobile, and in-store.

The multi-million shilling deal will see Dafabet on Shabana’s home and away shirts as well as branding at Tore Bobe’s home ground, Gusii Stadium.

Shabana will earn revenue on all betting activity linked to the club and its bettors.

Bettors and fans can join the Shabana network by sending the word ‘Shabana’ to 29567, thereby directly supporting the club via their betting activity.

Professional company

Peter Omwando, Shabana’s secretary general, said of the partnership: “We are delighted to welcome Dafabet as a sponsor of the club. They are a company with a proven track record of partnering with elite sports teams around the world and we look forward to a long and successful partnership. We have partnered with a professional company that is extremely ambitious and has the same drive and passion for community values as Shabana.”

Bavon Nyamweya, Dafabets’ business development head in Kenya, said: “We are extremely proud to connect the internationally recognised Dafabet name with Shabana and its passionate supporters.”

Dafabet will also be Wazito FC’s official betting partner. The Dafabet name will now be visible at all home and away games and the brand will feature in a variety of Wazito club publications across all digital channels.

Wazito FC will benefit from the agreement by earning revenues from all club and fan-connected wagering activity.

Wazito Chairman Kentice Tikolo said: “This is a proud moment for Wazito. We are very pleased to partner with such a prominent and well-recognised international brand. This new sponsorship deal shows confidence in our club and what we are set to achieve.

“We are sure both parties will enjoy a successful association.

“Fans and bettors can join the Wazito network by simply sending ‘Wazito’ to 29567,” she said.
