LICENSING: FKF should help clubs comply with rules

Former Nyanza FKF NEC representative Tom Alila has urged the local FA to assist Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka to comply with CAF Club Licensing regulations than banish them from top flight football.

“FKF knows very well how difficult and financially draining to have a team qualify for the Premier League. And so, to just edge out a team from the Premier League is no laughing matter,” Alila told FeverPitch yesterday.

Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka are two of only Kenyan Premier League clubs not to have satisfied FKF Licensing Board on their ability to finance their participation in the top-flight.

FKF insists timelines to comply with licence regulations sanctioned by CAF and Fifa were agreed on at the last Annual General Meeting.

“Be that as it may, community supported clubs should be helped to comply otherwise putting them into a death knell is not the reason FKF officials were elected,” Alila said.
