Chelsea will honour one of their fans who died in the Croydon tram crash when Tottenham visit Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Sixty-three-year-old Robert Huxley was one of several people who lost their lives in the tragic incident earlier this month.

The tram was travelling at more than three and a half times the speed limit when it derailed and toppled over in London, killing seven people and injuring hordes more.

Fans will take part in a minute-long applause in the 63rd minute of Saturday's Premier League encounter.

Mr Huxley was a Chelsea season ticket holder and a message tweeted out by author and Blues fan Mark Worrall implored his fellow supporters to remember him during the game against Spurs.

The message said: "Bob was a larger than life character and very hardworking. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend to many.

"Bob attended Blues games with his brother Phil, sons Adam and Ross and close friends whom he sat with in the Matthew Harding Lower Stand.

"Saturday 26 November sees Chelsea play Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge and as a tribute to Bob it would be fitting if everyone attending the game joined together in a round of applause in the 63rd minute.

"Bob's family and friends approve of this initiative and it would bring joy amidst much sadness to commemorate him this way."
