Roman Abromovich held late-night talks with Chelsea’s top leadership in a bid to stop a second successive season slipping away.

According to The Sun, the billionaire kept board members until late after the 2-1 home defeat by rivals Liverpool.

Abramovich saw his squad — bolstered by a whopping £117million of new talent in the summer outplayed in its first real test under Antonio Conte.

The Italian boss is not under immediate pressure having only taken over in the summer.
