Gor Mahia in tricky duel as Tusker, Ulinzi keen to collect maximum points

Gor Mahia captain Musa Mohammed has admitted the team is feeling the pressure of trying to win a fourth consecutive Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title.
The KPL champions play Sony Sugar away today as league action resumes after last weekend’s break.
It has been a tough second leg for Gor Mahia who looked invincible at some point in the first leg. But having picked two draws in the second leg, Mohammed says the pressure to win more matches is there.
“Last season, we set very high standards for ourselves and now our fans expect us to win every match. It is putting us under a lot of pressure especially when you consider the fact that no team wants to lose or drop points as they are looking at a respectable finish on the log,” he said.
Mohammed has described their opponents as a tough side and they will need everything to beat them.

“It is a tough game for us. Every team wants a point from Gor Mahia and we must strive to be strong and focused and not underrate anyone. At this stage in the league, before you take a point from anyone you really have to fight hard,” he said.
Except for their most recent 1-0 loss at the hands of AFC Leopards, the sugar millers have generally been very impressive, especially after coach Salim Babu took over and are capable of spoiling the party for Gor Mahia.
Thika United will be without dependable left-back Sammy Mejja when they play league leaders Tusker, also on Wednesday.
Mejja was injured against Mosca during a GOTv shield match played at the weekend.
Thika United coach James Nandwa admits, he will miss the player even as he looks forward to pick all three points. “His absence will be a big miss for us when you look at what he brings to the team. However, we hope to use him at the weekend when he is fully recovered and fit,” he said.
